You may not have
external sutures on your wound; they are all under the
skin. Some of you might have strips of paper on the wound,
which will fall off spontaneously. If the paper does not
fall off after 7 days post-op, you can remove them. If
you have sutures, call the next day after discharge for
further instructions.

Your post-operative appointment
was scheduled after your surgery. Please contact the office
to reschedule your appointment if you are unable to come
in at that time. It is important that we see you post-operatively
3-4 weeks after surgery. Until you are seen again, you
are to limit your activities to walking on a daily basis,
no heavy lifting or bending should be allowed. You are
allowed to sit, of course, in a straight chair. You will
able to ride in a car for short distances. You are not
allowed to drive.

Sex is permitted after surgery,
but in a more passive role than pre-operatively.

You will be given medication to alleviate some of the post operative discomfort that you might experience, but in general, this discomfort should decrease with time and the need for medication should also decrease with time. Please have your medication refills done during business hours only and do not call for refills on medications during weekends. Please plan ahead
